Funny that this was the question yesterday, as it is relevant today. For me it usually depends on how much I like my coworkers or if I can afford to work from home or miss work. Currently, I can work from home and I like a few of my coworkers quite a lot (i.e. they are my friends) so I'm going to work from home today because I am sick.

I already had bronchitis, but now I have this nasty throat thing that Michael has had the last few days.

Bleah and bleah.

I am in great shape, eh guys? Decomposing cornea, bronchitis, and if that wasn't enough of a kick in the imaginary nuts, now I have some throat thing.

Strangely, I'm not in the worst of spirits. Our house is full of food and the tree is up and the heat is on and I found my slippers, so working at home doesn't seem like such a bad thing. I just wish my throat didn't HURT so much.

I am somewhat amused by the mention of "strange hand movements" in this article, since what the guy was actually looking at was sign language. Real sign language. For reals, man.

I am probably a little less diverted than I would be because I have another blister on my cornea. Al-freaking-ready.

Trying to see the bright side of all this.

1. They say that if the amount of drugs I absorbed from the eyedrops I took was enough to send me to the ER, if I'd ever taken the drug in pill form, I would have just died.

2. The cornea may last a couple years yet, just depending on how long between blisters I can last.

But the dark side (use the force, Luke!) is a tiny bit overshadowing...

1. I still have hives and I'm starting to wonder if maybe this isn't a drug allergy.

2. There's no good test for this particular allergen - RAST tests are generally inconclusive and not only can I not take a skin test while I'm on Prednisone and Benedryl, it might be too risky to try it anyway.

3. The pressure in my right eye is elevated, which is a bad thing.

4. The chances of a corneal transplant going south are much higher because of my implants and the glaucoma.

Sigh. I just want to be healthy again. This bites.

For the second time today...

My husband stabbed me in the leg and I had to go to the ER.

Short story long...

I had a reaction (probably to the eyedrops they gave me yesterday) and went into anaphylaxis. Michael stabbed me in the leg with my epi-pen. The ER trip wasn't too painful - other than the incredibly cute but not very coherent doctor who pretty much got everything wrong and missed the fact that I had been epi-penned until we were getting ready to leave. *facepalm*

I can't seem to catch a break this week.

Now to fall into bed and die.

The cornea in my right eye is decomposing.

It hurts.

There is treatment which may help.

If it doesn't help, there is surgery which will help for some unknown amount of time.

After that, we're talking glass eye.

I made myself a "sexy" eyepatch that fits over my glasses. Don't I look fantastic. The one cool thing is I can swap out the design for whatever fits my mood. Whatever fits my mood and can be cut out of felt. Go me.

I've been a bit quiet lately. What with all the singing, child rearing, working, and projects I've been doing, I've hardly had any time to actually think, much less write my thoughts down.

I think I have some of those. Thoughts, I mean.

I'm trying to get enough students and classes going to replace my job when it ends (after the new year or maybe a bit after that) but so far that plan isn't fleshed out yet.

Also, I hate money. Just FYI.

Also, I am tired of getting sick, seriously. It needs to end.

As of tomorrow, I will have officially had this cough for three weeks. Off the Dr I go...

I wouldn't normally, but I'm going to Mexico on Sunday, so better safe than sorry.

Hope all of you in the land of the living are doing well. If I ever shake this stupid cold, I'll be a happy camper. I hope I make it through my concert tomorrow! I might have ventured out tonight (sorry [ profile] mslulu if I didn't have to attempt to be cough free tomorrow....
